About This Project
A particular sign of a good quality damson is an odorous white layer that protects the fruits from drying out. Our damsons are excellent for eating right away, but are also suitable for producing marmalade, juice and the well-known „Zwetschgenkuchen” („damson cake”). The flavor of this blue fruit can be fruity-sweet to savory-aromatic based on the type. Damsons are closely related to plums, but are easier to separate from their stone.
